Tatton Estates said 11,000 houses in Ashley is scaremongering.

It isn’t.

Tatton Estates said their plan changed in 2025 with the new management team.

It didn’t.

We can now publish the cover letter to Tatton Estates' 2026 submission (dated 31st of March).

Tatton Estates' statements to the media and the public are different to what they say to Cheshire East.

In the letter:

1. They offer land around Ashley for 11,000 houses and 490,000 sqm of commercial floorspace (equivalent to 18 Ashton Ikeas or 20 Amazon warehouses).

2. The 11,000 house and 490,000 sqm of commercial floorspace plan is “confirmed to be still available”.

3. “This representation confirms that the sites are available, suitable, achievable and deliverable for the proposed uses.”

4. “For the avoidance of doubt, all of the sites submitted to the 2024 CfS (Call for Sites) Exercise are still available…… to meet more of Cheshire East’s housing needs during and beyond this plan period.”
